Nice. I'm enjoying this one.

Is there a way not to see him on the scenery ? it just makes FSX utterly dumb and childish.

DAndre Newman said...

Yes good point Bruce. This 1 little addon completely screws up the entire FSX platform. As for it making FSX dumb, I didnt know FSX was so smart to begin with.

And im sure the fugure is in a place where you have so search for it anyway. Its not like he is the size of the control tower... Jeez.

Hey, who knew that this film was actually filmed at LAX and not Dulles?

Mir - Flightbeam said...

Bruce, you literally have to go out of your way to find him. He's completely hidden and even if you do 300 flights in and out of IAD, you'll never see him unless you look in areas you're general not supposed to go.
BTW - you'd be surprised how many easter eggs you'll find in other sceneries. KBOS... as an example :)

No need for sarcasm. :)

I agree with Bruce. It would be nice if you could remove him.

DAndre Newman said...

You guys would be amazed at just how many sceneries have Easter eggs like this. The difference here, it you actually know about it. But chances are, if we did not create this post, you would likely never know it was there. So yes, there was need for my sarcasm. People will complain about anything these days.

Aaron Graham said...

Sorry DAndre,
I was under the impression it was placed somewhere really obvious but still, nice manners goes a long way.

Mir, the curiosity is killing me, what's hidden at KBOS?

I actually love that you added John McClane. Die Hard 2 is one of my favorite movies of all time!

DAndre Newman said...

As does seeking clarification before leaving a complaint. :)

Cheers!

Not just Boston, Check all FlyTampa sceneries. They all have Easter Eggs. One of the things I love about their sceneries. For example, then TNCM was released there was an Easter egg that hints at Buffalo for a future scenery. And in the Buffalo scenery, there are several more Easter eggs! You have to hunt them down! That's the fun!

DAndre Newman said...

The best are always the Al Bundy billboards at KMDW!

Daniel San said...

Sorry but what does "easter eggs" mean?

DAndre Newman said...

In many parts of the world, there is a Holiday in April called Easter. For many it's the resurrection of Jesus Christ, for others there is a character known as the Easter Bunny that hides decorative eggs for children to search and find.

This applies to FS sceneries where developers hide little features in sceneries for the users to discover. It's fun and can include jokes or perhaps something meaningful to the developer.

Bruce Willis is the Easter Egg in this scenery as the character is well known for a popular film that takes place at the airport.

John McClane after all these years is considered both cult and classic. And the Die Hard films (the first four good ones) created a new film category itself.

I think it is good Mr. Mir included him in KIAD.

After all, John McClane did save the day at Dulles.

Daniel San said...

I got it! Here in Brazil Easter is called "Páscoa"
I appreciate your explanation DAndre. Thanks.
As for Bruce Willis, I saw all Die Hard films and know the story.

Cheers!

DAndre Newman said...

Nice to see we are still reaching Brasil!! Cool!
